The Commerce Corporation of Rhode Island will award a residential solar grant for qualifying residential solar projects. This grant will provide $1.25 per watt for a solar installation with a maximum grant amount of $10,000.00. This grant greatly reduces the size of the initial investment required to install residential solar power in Rhode Island.
The residential solar grants are given out three times every year. The due date for this round is October 25th, 2014. The Rhode Island Commerce Corporation publishes all of the information on the grant at their website, here.
Newport Solar had a very successful first round, applying for and receiving 11 grants. This money comes directly off the price that the customer pays. The second round grant application approvals will be released on August 25th, 2014. Newport Solar expects to have another excellent round will all of its projects receiving residential solar grant funding.
